The Echeverría family arrived in Chile in the mid-1700s, but it was only in 1930 that the first vines were planted in the colourful Curico Valley. The impressive estate now encompasses 65 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards with a focus on French varietals and blends. An excellent example is Carmenère Gran Reserva 2017 - an elegant blend of Carmenère and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Slowly aged in French oak barrels for 10-12 months, the result is a Carmenère that is both intense and smooth - subtly combining aromas of blackberries and cherries with expressive hints of red pepper, dried fruit and spices. This full-bodied wine is perfect with roast beef, a delicious curry or spicy Mexican food.
