THE OTHER CULT WINE OF FRANCE
Being named after a knight is a good start, when you follow it through with 40 years of fans though, well then you have transcended to cult status.
This incredible wine has dominated in Australia for so long its hard to remember when it started. And its not just here.... its everywhere.
"RICH, FULL BODIED TASTE. LOVE THIS!"

This wine is named after the famous knight of Bayard, the Chevalier Pierre de Bayard who was a French national hero and lived between 1475 and 1524. The unique feature of this versatile medium bodied red is that it enjoys a shorter maceration period (the time that the skins are left in contact with the grape juice during fermentation). Skillfully crafted from three grape varieties, which give the Chevalier its excellent depth of flavour, this wine is one of our most popular and its new presentation certainly does this favourite justice.
Typical of all Mediterranean style wines, the Chevalier de Bayard exudes all the qualities of the wines in this region. However it extends them with a more fruit forward offering.
One of the most alluring and wonderful aspects of the Chevalier is how well it pairs with Lamb. Do a home roast, slow style, add your gravy or mint sauce and you are on your way to a match made in heaven.
Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan blended to perfection. Offer up savory and spicy elements interplaying with fruits and a luscious mouthfeel
Not everyone wants a room temperature red, some of us seek that cool refreshing sensation. Chevalier de Bayard is a versatile wine and works well slightly chilled. 20-30 Minutes in the fridge is enough to bring this wine down to about 9 - 11C.
